“I just want to feel like me again”
Who are you?
You're independent
You are reserved and comfortable being alone. You are confident in your decision making, self-sufficient and good at problem solving. You don’t need anyone but you struggle with the balance to be left alone and a desire to be included. You want to ask for help but don’t know how. Sometimes it can be too much to be surrounded by other people and you long for a peaceful mind. I can help.
You're existing
You are creative, visionary and have great ideas but often ask yourself “ What am I doing with my life?”. You find yourself consumed by these thoughts and either you haven’t found the life you want or you’re living one that doesn’t feel right. You feel pressure to “make it” and try to overachieve at life but feel utterly uninspired. Attempts to set goals feels overwhelming and pointless, you struggle to even complete the simplest of tasks. Deep down you know you CAN do amazing things – but you don’t know where to start. I can help.
You're Strong
You’re the person everyone comes to in a crisis, you are full of words of wisdom and always know what to do. However you’ve realised when you need someone, you have no one. You have surrounded yourself with “needy” people and whenever you try to talk about you, it always ends up back talking about them. You think other people are worse off than you, so you always put your needs second. It’s time to put yourself first. I can help.
You're Empty
You feel nothing, you go through the daily motions but it’s just numb. You long to feel something, anything again. You are consumed by so much you feel so little. You’re ready to lift the lid on everything you’ve buried deep even though you know it may open the flood gates. I can help.
You're Searching
You have lost something, maybe your identity, a significant other or a part of you. You are unsure where you fit in this world now. You had it all together, you had everything and now it’s gone. Where do you go from here? I can help.
You're Worried
You feel like your mind is running a marathon, you long for a peace. You aren’t eating, sleeping or even functioning some days. You feel you’re a burden to your friends and family. You wish you could make the endless thoughts stop, you can’t even remember why you were worried in the first place. I can help.
You're a Workaholic
You are inspiring, respected and make connections easily in work, everything seems easy and simple. However in your personal life, it’s a completely different story, you’re unable to maintain a relationship. You know you’re a catch, so why can’t you find the one? You avoid your personal life, so throw all your attention into your professional life. I can help.
You're a new Mum
You have made the miracle of life, but in becoming a mother you have lost who you are. You feel like you don’t know what you’re doing, you’re sleep deprived and questioning everything. I can help.
You're Emotional
You are empathic and care deeply for everyone in your life. But, you can't stop reacting emotionally to every situation, your throat hurts from the constant lump and you just want to control your emotions. You can't help it, you just start crying at everything and don't know why. I can help.
You're Ambitious
You’re intelligent, logical and wise. You are respected for your loyalty, patience and accuracy. You like to be in control yet most of the time you feel out of control. From the outside you look like you have everything together, and you appear as if you do, but feels like it could all fall apart any second. You’ve noticed your relationships, work life and ability to get things done has started to slip. You don’t know what to do. I can help.
You're Disconnected
You are approachable, friendly and built a network of friends and family. You go through the motions but you feel stuck in the same day, every day, bored with life. You’re not getting what you need from your relationships, career or daily life. You don't feel connected to the world or your body. You want things to change but you have no idea where to start. I can help.
You're Weak
You’re caring and considerate and you tend to put other people’s needs before your own. You have no self control or will power, you instantly regret your actions and blame yourself for not “being stronger”. You wish you knew how to be more in control of your life. I can help.
None of the above? Don't worry, I can still help you
Who am I?
Hi, I'm Maxine, I'm not your typical therapist, I won't stare at you with a concerned expression and constantly ask you "How did that make

ask me to!

Finding a therapist who best fits your needs is priceless, therefore I offer a 30 minute consultation prior to deciding whether I'm the right therapist for you.
What to expect
Free 30minute consultation call
You've probably googled lots of therapists by now, contacted a few but still not found the right one. Leaving you frustrated and considering giving up. This call will give you the opportunity to ask me any questions and I'll explain how my approach to therapy works.
It's really important you are comfortable with your therapist, you may feel ready to share personal experiences and thoughts you've never said out loud before or just want to sit in silence. No matter where you are, this call will help you decide whether I'm the therapist for you. If at the end of the call you don't think I'm the one, that's ok. I want you to find the person for you, that's why I will also let you know if I think another therapist would be better for you.
Your first session
It's all about getting to know each other. You may have wanted to start therapy for a specific reason or just sick of feeling how you feel.
Talking to a stranger can feel daunting at first, we go entirely at your pace. We only discuss what you want to talk about, I won't ask you lots of questions.
We'll complete a simple contract together including some formalities, confidentiality and safeguarding.
Hopefully at the end of the session, you will want to continue your journey with me however there is no pressure to book another session unless you want to.
FAQs
Q: How long is a session?
A: The duration of a session is 50minutes, You will be amazed at how quickly the time passes.
Q: How many sessions will I need?
A: This is completely up to you and your decision, some clients have a few sessions (less than 6) others need longer (20+). I work with both short-term specific issues and more complex long-term issues. You will know when it is time to stop counselling based on how you feel or your circumstances may change. My aim is to make you no longer need me or counselling, I want you to learn how to manage your own issues.
Q: How often will I need to see you?
A: The recommended frequency for therapy is weekly, this allows you to make progress between the sessions. However, dependent on your circumstances and aims from therapy we may agree to meet fortnightly or monthly. And towards the end of your therapy sessions we will move to fortnightly and then monthly if required.
Q: How quickly can I book a session?
A: This depends on how many other clients I currently have. I will contact you to book a consultation call within 24 hours of you submitting an enquiry. Following the consultation call, I would aim to book your session at a time that suits you, and dependent on your availability this should be within 2 weeks of your consultation call.
Q: What if I need to cancel or re-arrange?
A: Life happens and you may not be able to make a session. Ideally, I ask that you let me know 48 hours before your session, as this enables me to offer your slot to another client. However, this may not always be possible and last minute issues may arise on the day. If this happens more than twice, I will need to charge you for the third missed session as I am unable to offer the time to another client at short notice.
Q: What if I’m not sure if I’m ready?
A: Everyone is different, and you may not feel ready to talk about your issues. This is very common and I’d recommend booking a consultation call so we can discuss your options. I want you to find the right therapist for you and get the support you need. I understand that may not be me or you may not be ready yet.
